I love the feeling of the school- amazing community, best staff ever and wonderful and bright kids!

I love Colonial Hills because of our first-rate teachers, staff and our Principal. There is strong parent involvement and community support.

I am a parent of a Colonial Hills special needs student, my son has behavioral issues and was placed in an intergrated Kindergarten classroom with a teacher named Mrs. Deagle. She is just the sweetest and most genuinely caring teacher I have had the pleasure of meeting. My son has an IEP in place from our previous school district and if your looking for that teacher to leep you informed on your child's progress she is a keeper. She emails and makes phone calls! My son has made a lot of progress and the team IEP met with me several times over the year in order to keep what was best for my son in mind. Ultimately, we decided that Bluffsview would be better for him because they have a better program designed for his particular needs but I still would recommend this school to anyone, its small but diverse.

I hope your child doesn't have special needs- worthington may be rated an excellent school, but certainly not for those children who have special needs above and beyond what the teacher provides for her 'typical' students. Rather than rendering support for problems, many of the teachers are punitive and punish children for symptoms related to medical conditions relating to Autism and ADD-- certainly not acceptable support or free appropriate public education for those special children who by law are entitled to it.

Colonial Hills is a model community school. It is small and well-organized. Family members are actively involved in the classroom and with the PTA. Colonial Hills' greatest strength lies in its diversity and incredible related arts (gym, art, music) teachers. The school has a unique semi-wooded setting complete with outdoor classroom and is tucked away in a quiet low-traffic established neighborhood. The only drawback we have found is the fifty-year-old school building is in need of some structural updates (ceiling, bathrooms, etc).

I feel very fortunate that both my children were able to attend CH. Both are in HS now, and excel in their studies. I feel that it is because of the basic skills that they learned while at CH that they are doing so well in HS today. CH is also more diverse than other Worthington Schools, which I feel benefited my children in that they can relate much better to the diverse population in HS, and later on in college and the work force. The basic skills taught were excellent, they advanced classes good, art and gym were excellent. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants the quality education of a private school education for their children at a public school price.

Colonial Hills Elementary in Worthington, Ohio is an excellent school for a number of reasons. Our daughter is currently a 5th grader there, and has been attending since kindergarten. She loves it and so do we, so much so that we've remained in the neighborhood for that reason alone. The staff is extremely professional, courteous and insist on the same from all the children . . . regardless of age, race, or grade. The school is located in one of the suburb school districts, so half-day kindergarten exists there but full-day is an option as well for a nominal fee. The curriculum is top-notch and the lunches they serve all year long have always been extremely healthy, nutritious, and taste very good. I've always been a from-scratch-cook, so our daughter is extremely picky about what she eats . . . she loves it. Extremely Satisfied Parent

My daughter is in the Kindergarten class at Colonial Hills E.S. I would recommend this school to anyone. My daughters teacher seems qualified and caring. She takes time each day to work one on one with the children to help them excel. She also sends each parent an email of what has transpired during the day. This is extremely helpful in knowing so we can also work at home with our children to reinforce what they learned. Every morning the principal is outside to greet the students (even in the winter). The school is a very warm and friendly environment. I am very pleased with this school! Luckily, my daughter has 6 years here. This school has set standards for others in the area. Thank you Colonial Hills E.S!
